Apple's iPhone Comes to Verizon

The Verizon iPhone will be available for pre-order on February 3rd and will hit Verizon retail stores on February 10th.  Pricing of the units will be comparable to AT&T plans, the 16GB model will be $199 and the 32GB model will be $299.  The Verizon iPhone will be EV-DO only (not LTE 4G).  Apple made the concession because the LTE chipsets would have required a redesign of the iPhone which would have added time.  The market is ripe now for Verizon iPhones, so the plug was pulled.

Some interesting tidbits about the Verizon iPhone include: the ability to sport a 5 person hotspot built-in to the firmware of the phone, the side buttons have been relocated to accomodate different antenna placement,  and the Verizon iPhone will not offer global roaming capability.
